Jencarlos captivates with his groundbreaking performance of Jesus for the Television Music Event “The Passion”

Jencarlos the talented singer and actor, brings the audience to tears in New Orleans with his masterful performance on the two-hour inspirational television music event The Passion that was aired on FOX yesterday and will be available on-demand Globally on NETFLIX beginning on March 22nd.

Hosted and narrated by Tyler Perry, the event unfolded live at some of New Orleans’ most iconic locations, while featuring a procession of a thousand people carrying a 20-foot, illuminated cross from outside the Superdome to the live stage at Woldenberg Park on the banks of the Mississippi River.

THE PASSION tells the story of the last hours of Jesus Christ’s life on earth through passages from the Bible and a variety of well-known pop songs, sung by the cast. All of the songs were arranged specifically for the album and live event by Adam Anders – (Glee, Rock of Ages). The songs featured in The Passion include hits from Whitney Houston, Imagine Dragons, Evanescence, Jewel, Tina Turner, Katy Perry and Hoobastank. The Passion was written by Peter Barsocchini (“High School Musical”)

The soundtrack reached No.1 on iTunes and became a trending topic on Twitter shortly after the TV premiere. The show features cast members Jencarlos in the leading role (Jesus Christ), Chris Daughtry (Judas), Prince Royce (Peter), Seal (Pontius Pilate) and Trisha Yearwood (Mary, mother of Jesus).
The inspirational television music event comes after the release of JENCARLOS’ latest single BABY, that reached No1 spot on iTunes in Central America and is currently in the TOP 40 Latin Radio chart in the United States.
