Tomando como referencia el show The Wall de Roger Waters, y de la banda de Damon Albarn -Gorillaz-, Charly Alberti y Zeta Bosio encontraron la manera crear, no solo un concierto, sino toda una experiencia ajustada a la nueva era digital.
Los integrantes existentes de la icónica banda de rock en español, Soda Stereo ofrecieron una rueda de prensa en Buenos Aires sobre Gracias Totales Soda Stereo, el tour que arrancará el próximo 29 de febrero en Bogotá, Colombia y que ofrecerá 16 shows a lo largo y ancho del continente americano, homenajeando a su extinto frontman, Gustavo Cerati y su genialidad musical, impresa en cada una de sus canciones.
Catorce artistas invitados formarán parte de la gira por Estados Unidos: Richard Coleman, primer vocalista de Soda Stereo y gran amigo de Cerati; Andrea Echeverri, voz líder de Aterciopelados; Draco Rosa, Gustavo Santaolalla y Julieta Venegas compartirán escenario con Charly Alberti y Zeta Bosio, con quienes celebrarán en vivo junto a su público, la música y la historia de Soda Stereo en shows por New York, Miami, Los Ángeles y Houston.
Entre tanto, Chris Martin vocalista de Coldplay, Juanes, Rubén Albarrán de Café Tacuba; Benito Cerati hijo de Gustavo Cerati; Adrián Dárgelos, líder del grupo musical Babasónicos; Álvaro Henríquez, voz de las bandas Los Tres y Pettinellis; Fernando Ruiz Díaz de Catupecu Machu, Mon Laferte, y León Larregui de Zoe, harán parte del esperado show en piezas que se proyectarán en una pantalla gigante de más de 400m2 (4305.56 pies cuadrados), tecnología que permitirá que la voz e imagen del propio Gustavo Cerati estén presentes en un momento histórico de esta reunión inolvidable para los fans.
Chris Martin, de Coldplay y declarado fan de la agrupación argentina, los conoció hace años en un tour por Sur América. “Es fan, escucha todos los discos, ponía Sueño Stereo y nos preguntaba ¿Cómo hacían para sonar los tres así?”comentó Zeta Bosio al diario argentino La Nación. Martin acompañará el show atreves de una pantalla gigante, presentando su homenaje a Soda.

La idea surgió luego del trabajo compilatorio que hicieran Alberti y Bosio para Sep7imo día, el show del Cirque du Soleil. A quienes les pareció hermoso poder compartir con los amantes de Soda las emociones que les generaba ver y escuchar esos momentos con Cerati.
“Queremos ser los guardianes de nuestra historia. Si no empiezan a aparecer libros y documentales que la gente hace sin consultar y terminan contando una historia que no es” afirmó Alberti al diario argentino La Nación.

“La pantalla es el medio en el que todos ven los shows de música hoy en día. Nosotros vamos a hacer que en esa pantalla conviva alguien que estuvo grabando su parte hace dos meses, con la banda en vivo y con Gustavo” comentaron al diario La Nación de Argentina.
Gracias Totales, encabezada por Charly Alberti y Zeta Bosio definitivamente será una celebración final del legado de Soda Stereo.

Richard Coleman
Conciderado uno de los mejores guitarristas argentinos de la écada de los 80, Richard Coleman formó su primer grupo, Metrópoli junto a Ulises Butrón en el 82. Más tarde, hizo parte de la entonces desconocida Soda Stereo. Integró paralelamente Fricción (junto Gustavo Cerati, Fernando Samalea y Christian Basso). Fueron elegidos como Grupo Revelación 1986 por el Sí de Clarín y Charly García produjo su álbum debut, Consumación o consumo (1986).
Andrea Echeverri
Vocalista y guitarrista del grupo colombiano Aterciopelados. Andrea Echeverri es una de las voces femeninas latinoamericanas más prominente del rock. Cantante y ceramista, ha sido ganadora de varios premios Grammy, MTV, Lo Nuestro y entre otros. Ha publicado cinco álbumes de estudio y uno álbum recopilatorio con Aterciopelados.
Draco Rosa
El cantante, compositor, multi-instrumentista, actor, productor, poeta y empresario de origen puertorriqueño, Robi Draco Rosa es uno de los artístas latinos más prolíferos, versátiles y querido por los amantes de rock. Ha sido ganador de múltiples Grammy.
Como solista ha grabado varios álbumes tanto en inglés como en español, con
virtiéndose en compositor y productor para cantantes como Ricky Martin, Julio Iglesias y Ednita Nazario.
Gustavo Santaolalla
Uno de los músicos y productores más premiados y reconocidos del continente, su trabajo ha combinado elementos del rock, folk, pop, new wave, ritmos africanos y música popular latinoamericana. Recordado por muchos por ser el cerebro de Bajofondo Tango Club y liderar una de la bandas pioneras del rock en español en Argentina, Arco Iris. Ganador dos veces del Oscar que entrega la Academia de las Artes y las Ciencias Cinematográficas de Hollywood, por su labor de compositor musical.
Julieta Venegas
Es una de las figuras femeninas del rock en español más conocidas a nivel mundial. Compositora, cantante, música, activista y actriz mexicana nacida en Estados Unidos. Se dio a conocer como integrante de la agrupación mexicana Tijuana No donde compuso la canción más exitosa de la agrupación, Pobre de ti. Como solista cuenta con más de seis producciones discográficas, varias de ellas disco de platino y con sus canciones le han dado la vuelta al mundo.

Chris Martin of Coldplay became a fan of the Argentine group when he met the members years ago during a tour of South America.
The idea came about after Alberti and Bosio collaborated with Cirque du
Soleil for the spectacular show Sep7imo Día, which honors Soda Stereo’s music. It seemed like a brilliant idea to make those moments spent with Cerati accessible to their fans.
With Roger Waters’ show The Wall and Damon Albam’s virtual band, Gorillaz as examples, Alberti and Bosio have created not just a concert but a total experience that is a perfect fit for the digital age.
The current members of the iconic Spanish rock group Soda Stereo held a press conference in Buenos Aires to announce their Gracias Totales Soda Stereo tour, which will begin on February 29 in Bogota, Colombia. The tour will include 16 shows throughout the Americas and will honor their late frontman, Gustavo Cerati, whose musical prowess is apparent in each of the group’s songs.
Fourteen invited artists will join Charly Alberti and Zeta Bosio on stage as they tour the United States: Richard Coleman, lead singer of Soda Stereo and a close friend of Cerati; Andrea Echeverri, lead voice of Aterciopelados; Draco Rosa, Gustavo Santaolalla, and Julieta Venegas. During the live performances, the artists will share their music and story with their fans in New York, Miami, Los Angeles, and Houston.
Meanwhile, Chris Martin, lead singer of Cold Play; Juanes; Rubén Albarrán from Café Tacuba; Benito Cerati, Gustavo Cerati’s son; Adrián Dárgelos, frontman for the group Babasónicos; Álvaro Henríquez, singer for the bands Los Tres and Pettinellis; Ruiz Diaz of Catupecu Machu; Mon Laferte, and León Larregui will all be part of the show through images that will be projected on an enormous monitor (about 4305 square feet or 400 square meters). Technology will make it possible for Gustavo Cerati’s voice and image to be enjoyed by all the fans during this historic and unforgettable musical moment.

The show will also include a documentary of unreleased videos about the band’s creative efforts as well as moments, gathered over the years that have never before been seen by the public.

“We want to protect our story. Otherwise, unauthorized books and documentaries, which will distort the truth, will come out,” said Alberti during an interview with La Nación.

“The screen is the means through which everyone watches music shows today. We are going to use that screen to enable someone who was recording two months ago to coexist with a live band, and with Gustavo,” commented Alberti and Bosco to La Nacion.
Gracias Totales, led by Charly Alberti and Zeta Bosco, will be the ultimate celebration of Soda Stereo’s legacy.

Richard Coleman
Considered one of the best Argentine guitarists of the 80s, Richard Coleman formed his first group, Metrópolis, with Ulises Butrón in 1982. Later, he was part of the then unknown Soda Stereo. At the same time, he joined Fricción (together with Gustavo Cerati, Fernando Samalea, and Christian Basso). They were chosen as Best New Group 1986 by Argentina’s Clarín newspaper, and Charly García produced their debut album, Consumación o Consumo (1986).
Andrea Echeverri
Vocalist and guitarist of the Colombian group Aterciopelados, Andrea Echeverri is one of the most prominent Latin American female voices in rock. A singer and ceramist, she has won several GRAMMY, MTV, and Lo Nuestro awards, among others. She has released five studio albums, and one compilation album with Aterciopelados.
Draco Rosa
The singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, actor, producer, poet and businessman of Puerto Rican origin, Robi Draco Rosa is one of the most prolific, versatile, and beloved Latin artists. He has won multiple GRAMMY awards as well.
As a soloist, he has recorded several albums in both English and Spanish, becoming a composer and producer for singers such as Ricky Martin, Julio Iglesias, and Ednita Nazario.
Gustavo Santaolalla
One of the most awarded and recognized musicians and producers on the continent, his work has combined elements of rock, folk, pop, new wave, African rhythms, and Latin American folk music. Remembered by many for being the brains behind Bajofondo Tango Club, and for leading one of the pioneer rock bands in Spanish in Argentina, Arco Iris. Presented twice with the Oscar by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences of Hollywood for his work as a musical composer.
Julieta Venegas
She is one of the world’s best-known female rock in Spanish performers. A Mexican composer, singer, musician, activist, and actress born in the United States, she first became known as a member of the Mexican group Tijuana No, composing their most successful song, Pobre de Ti. As a solo artist, she has more than six albums to her name, several of them having reached platinum record status, and her songs have gained international acclaim.
