After a break of nearly a decade, X Alfonso, one of the most important musicians of the young Cuban arts scene, winner of a Goya Award for the Habana Blues (2005) soundtrack, released his first single CAMBIO. The song is the first of several to be released from his new album INSIDE.
As is typical of his music, CAMBIO is a blend of provocative yet thoughtful lyrics, electronic sounds, modern technology, and a good amount of ethnic and tribal rhythms.
As one of the great artists of Cuba's contemporary music scene, X Alfonso is considered an avant-garde and cutting-edge musician, inspired by rock, pop, hip hop, electronic music, and Afro-Cuban rhythms.
X Alfonso, eminent philanthropist and soundtrack composer acclaimed internationally
Thanks to his outstanding talent, X Alfonso has been nominated several times for the Latin GRAMMY awards. In 2006, he was the winner in the category Latin Discovery in the Premios de la Música de España awards. He has also been honored for his community service. In 2010, UNICEF appointed him a Goodwill Ambassador for his work with children in Havana.
He has collaborated as well with renowned musicians and musical groups, such as Audioslave, Bebe, Santiago Feliú, Descemer Bueno, Meshell Ndegeocello, and Rick Wakeman.
In 2016, X Alfonso, along with Yissy García, David Blanco, and Ernesto Blanco, (drummer, vocalist, and guitarist respectively) launched the legendary rock group La Flota, appearing in such festivals as Havana World Music and SXSW. And in other festivals, such as Womex and Roskilde, he appeared as a soloist.

Since 2010, X Alfonso has been the powerhouse behind the multimedia Cuban Art Factory (FAC), which, in 2019, TIME magazine included on its list of the 100 greatest places in the world. The Cuban Art Factory is a unique cultural space, where famous, well-established artists and unknown young artists (musicians, filmmakers, painters, dancers) can get together.
And now this Cuban artist has arrived with his new album INSIDE, which will be available in all digital platforms, and which, without a doubt, signals the return of this all-important musician.
