The Spanish alt-rock group Vetusta Morla released Mismo Sitio, Distinto Lugar, the group’s fourth studio album. It includes the tracks “Deséame Suerte”, “El Discurso del Rey”, “Palmeras en La Mancha”, “Consejo de Sabios”, “23 de Junio”, “Guerra Civil”, “Te lo Digo a Ti”, “Punto sin Retorno”, “La Vieja Escuela” and the title track.
Stylistically, Mismo Sitio, Distinto Lugar reaffirms Vetusta Morla’s musical essence which is actually rooted in an active metamorphosis. This album shows the band transforming in real time. Its 10 songs can be interpreted as the band’s quest to re-center itself so it can continue making sense of the world by way of music. Such creative turmoil was necessary to preserve the musicians’ commitment to making an honest record.
Collaborating with Vetusta Morla for the first time were such greats as the album’s co-producer Carles “Campi” Campón (Jorge Drexler, Natalia Lafourcade), who worked with the band in Berlin’s Hansa Studios. Mixing the album was the renowned Dave Fridmann (MGMT, Tame Impala, The Flaming Lips).
In 2018, the band will promote this album with a 16-city concert tour that includes seven countries. The tour kicks off in Lima, Perú, marking the band’s first visit to the South American country. Subsequent stops include Chile, Colombia, México and Argentina, countries where the band has been performing since 2009 and feels right at home with its loyal local followings. The second leg of the Mismo Sitio, Distinto Lugar Tour takes place in Europe with two concerts in Portugal and eight in Spain: Salamanca, Murcia, Seville, A Coruña, Barcelona, Valencia, Madrid and Bilbao.

Vetusta Morla publicó Mismo Sitio, Distinto Lugar, su cuarto álbum de estudio compuesto por las canciones “Deséame Suerte”, “El Discurso del Rey”, “Palmeras en La Mancha”, “Consejo de Sabios”, “23 de Junio”, “Guerra Civil”, “Te lo Digo a Ti”, “Punto Sin Retorno”, “La Vieja Escuela” y “Mismo Sitio, Distinto Lugar”.
Mismo Sitio, Distinto Lugar es una invitación al epicentro mismo de Vetusta Morla para asistir en primera persona a una reafirmación de su esencia, cimentada, irónicamente, en una agitada metamorfosis. El álbum refleja de manera fragmentada un proceso de transformación, siendo a la vez el proceso en sí, su relato y el resultado del mismo. Sus diez canciones pueden leerse como un manual de refundación que emana de la necesidad de la banda de seguir interpretando su realidad a través de la música, manteniendo intacto su sello de irrenunciable honestidad.
En ese proceso los seis componentes se han rodeado de nuevos compañeros: Carles Campi Campón (Jorge Drexler, Natalia Lafourcade) con quien han coproducido el álbum en los Hansa Studios de Berlín, y Dave Fridmann (MGMT, Tame Impala, The Flaming Lips), encargado de las mezclas de las 10 canciones que componen Mismo Sitio, Distinto Lugar.
En 2018, la banda presentará en directo el nuevo álbum visitando 16 ciudades de 7 países. El punto de partida será la capital de Perú, Lima, país en el que el grupo actuará en directo por primera vez en su carrera. Le seguirán Chile, Colombia, México y Argentina, destinos que el sexteto ha incorporado regularmente desde 2009 en sus tours y donde cuentan con una legión de seguidores. El segundo tramo de la presentación en directo de Mismo Sitio, Distinto Lugar se celebrará en la Península Ibérica con 2 conciertos en Portugal y 8 en España: Salamanca, Murcia, Sevilla, A Coruña, Barcelona, Valencia, Madrid y Bilbao.
