Van Morrison releases a new track – Got To Go Where The Love Is – on all digital platforms today (25th October 2018). Listen to Got To Go Where The Love Is here.
Recorded with incredible multi-instrumentalist Joey DeFrancesco and a band including Dan Wilson on guitar, Michael Ode on drums and Troy Roberts on tenor saxophone, Got To Go Where The Love Is is a gloriously upbeat new Van Morrison composition that’s further evidence of the singer’s seemingly limitless supply of creativity. Van’s soulful words are accompanied by a fantastically evocative lyric video (created by Beautiful Digital) – click here to watch.
Got To Go Where The Love Is is taken from The Prophet Speaks, Van Morrison’s 40th studio album (released 7th December on Caroline International). The fourteen track album follows a recent run of hugely acclaimed albums (Roll With The Punches, Versatile and You’re Driving Me Crazy), each of which has delved deep into the musical styles that have continued to inspire Van throughout his life – blues, vocal jazz and R&B. Across the record, Van takes on a series of unarguable classics by the likes of John Lee Hooker, Sam Cooke and Solomon Burke (among others) and makes them unmistakably his own. Alongside these reinterpretations, The Prophet Speaks features six phenomenal new Van Morrison compositions (including Got To Go Where The Love Is and the album’s previously released title track).
Van Morrison plays London’s O2 arena this weekend as part of the Bluesfest (with Robert Plant and the Sensational Shape Shifters).
