This weekend at Ultra—the renowned three-day EDM festival that took place in Miami, Steve Aoki, alongside mega stars Daddy Yankee, Elvis Crespo, and Play-N-Skillz, performed for the first time ever their hit single, “Azukita.” Their presentation took the song to a new dimension: turning it into an anthem of international union.

The EDM, Tropical, and Urban artists were thrilled to sing to a crowd of 60,000 people cheering in Downtown Miami. The audience chanted with them and waved flags of different countries, unleashing a movement of universal brotherhood and sisterhood brought on by the performance.

After his one-hour set which also counted with special guests such as Lauren Jauregui(Fifth Harmony), Desiigner, Quintino, Bok Nero, and Laidback Luke; all artists who dominate in their own genre, Aoki, a world-renowned DJ, and producer, expressed how excited he was to perform “Azukita” at the festival. “It was my favorite part of the show, because of its message of global union and feeling the synergy of EDM and Latin music.”

On Instagram, Daddy Yankee, who said his European fans have indicated that “Azukita” is already playing in all clubs in that region, described the great moment lived at Ultra’s 20th anniversary with a single word: “Fire.”

The enormous popularity of this catchy song is partly that, by joining electronic music with merengue and reggaeton, it shows music is the perfect way to bring together not only different musical rhythms, but also people from all over the world.

Steve continues his takeover in the Latin world when he arrives at Billboard Latin Music Week in Las Vegas on April 24, where he will be a guest speaker at the “Producing For The Global Market” panel.
