Immersing us in her feeling and soul, the renowned singer-songwriter and instrumentalist Raquel Sofía today premieres her single and video “Tenemos Historia,” available via her VEVO channel and all digital music outlets.
The Puerto Rican vocalist traveled to Mexico City for the filming of this song’s music video, where she worked with the acclaimed creative agency E.L.E.F.A.N.T.E. who created a desolate panorama that portrays the former relationships that have come and gone and have left deep memories.
With her performance of “Tenemos Historia,” Raquel Sofía shows us her skill at fusing Latin sentiment with classic R&B. The song’s lyrics illustrate in detail how a relationship changes between two beings that began as friends, fall in love and end with a breakup:
We went from friends, to lovers, to distant beings and nothing more….I cannot look at you the same way anymore.”

About Raquel Sofía
A graduate of University of Miami’s prestigious Frost School of Music, Raquel Sofía worked as a backing vocalist for such greats as Shakira and Juanes before taking time to record her own material. Fluent in Spanish, English, and Portuguese, she launched her solo career as an indie artist and appeared on NPR Music’s Tiny Desk Concert in October 2014. The following year, she released her debut album Te Quiero Los Domingos (I Love You on Sundays), which hit #1 on the iTunes Latino sales chart. Two singles from this album, “Agridulce” (Bittersweet) and “Te Amo Idiota” (I Love You Idiot), have garnered over 8.5 million streams on Spotify. Also in 2015, she wrote and performed for the official Game of Thrones Mixtape. Her arrival as a performer was recognized by the Latin Recording Academy with her nomination for Best New Artist at the 2015 Latin GRAMMYs. In 2016, she served as a guest vocalist on two songs released by Levee Walkers, a supergroup comprising members of Pearl Jam, Guns ‘N’ Roses and Screaming Trees.

Egresada de la Escuela de Música Frost de la Universidad de Miami, Raquel Sofía trabajaba como corista al lado de grandes artistas de la talla de Shakira y Juanes aún antes de realizar sus propias grabaciones. Dominando el español, el inglés y el portugués, emprendió su carrera de manera independiente, actuando en el reconocido programa Tiny Desk Concert de la cadena radial estadounidense NPR en octubre 2014. En el 2015, lanzó su primer álbum Te Quiero Los Domingos, el cual llegó al #1 en la lista iTunes Latino. Dos de los sencillos de este disco, “Agridulce” y “Te Amo Idiota”, han alcanzado más de 8.5 millones de reproducciones por Spotify. El mismo año, ella escribió y actuó para el álbum oficial de HBO Game of Thrones Mixtape.
