MIAMI, FL (May 25, 2010) – The singer-songwriter and musician Pedro Suárez-Vértiz reaffirmed its self-sufficient commitment upon being becoming the first Hispanic artist of international caliber in supporting Musicians On Call, an organization without end of gain that is dedicated to carry music and bringing happiness to patients from hospitals through all the United States.
Musicians On Call established in 1999, exploit the musical art to promote and to complement the process of recovery for the patients and family. The institution, that has divisions in New York, Nashville, Philadelphia and Miami, has been supported by artists of the recognition of Bruce Springsteen, Avril Lavigne, John Mayer and Seal, among many others.
The interpreter of “Nadia” and “Tema del adiós”, interrupted his Amazonas USA Tour to travel to Miami where made a visited exclusively to Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital and the South Miami Hospital.
“¡This is a marvelous experience; visit a hospital with an electric guitar and an amplifier! Impressive interest of children and I could explain more about this instrument. Besides, along with my harmonica I could provide them my compositions, as well as Italian, Cuban, Peruvian songs, something of Beethoven, Vivaldi, Mozart, The Beatles, Elton John, Dylan and some improvisation of blues. I acquainted with each patient for which each repertoire was unique. This experience has left tracks in me upon intensify me not only by the health of these patients but by the ignored and hopeful that want to discontinue their routine. I thanks to God for the opportunity to present them, a bit of happiness and the best than I know what to do, music,” assured Pedro who began his day at the Joe DiMaggio where next to the personnel of Musicians On Call walk through the units of oncology, intensive care and pediatrics bringing a smiles to the children and there he meet a Haitian girl survivor of the past earthquake in her country.
“Thank you for stopping by today and taking the time to entertain my son. Thank you for singing a Beatles song for him and bringing a smile to his face. Thank you for showing me some stuff on the guitar as well. I will go home and pick it up… sometimes we get so caught up with love we forget to stop and make some music,” expressed Joseph Piccolo father of one of the patients of that institution.
Pedro Suarez-Vértiz arrived in early hours of the afternoon to South Miami hospital to the same thing with adult patients of oncology unit. To his petition, the first stop was in the room of a patient that has been hospitalized more than 30 years and who in spite of have not having mobility through his eyes thanked the music that this accomplished artist delivered him. In addition, to his successes and classics of the Anglo music, Pedro interpreted some Latin music to delight Cuban opera singer with whom he sang several songs.
Pedro Suarez-Vértiz closed his day with an only TV presentation in Alexis Valdés show, “Está Night Tu Night”, where, besides facing the incomparable style of the host and the sensual nurse, interpreted his mega-hit “Amazonas” song that gives name to his most recent production and that also to his new musical production “Amazonas Uncut”, a luxury edition that will releases to the international market on June 15th and that besides the successes of the original album, this includes photos, videos and never heard songs.

MIAMI, FL (25 de mayo, 2010) – El cantautor y músico Pedro Suárez-Vértiz reafirmó su compromiso filantrópico al convertirse en el primer artista hispano de talla internacional en apoyar Musicians On Call, una organización sin fines de lucro que se dedica a llevar música y alegría a pacientes de hospitales a través de todo los Estados Unidos.
Fundada en 1999, Musicians On Call utiliza el arte musical para promover y complementar el proceso de recuperación a pacientes y familiares. La fundación, que tiene capítulos en New York, Nashville, Philadelphia y Miami, ha sido apoyada por artistas de la talla de Bruce Springsteen, Avril Lavigne, John Mayer y Seal, entre muchos otros.
El intérprete de “Nadia” y “Tema del adiós”, hizo un alto en su gira de conciertos Amazonas USA Tour para viajar a la ciudad de Miami donde visitó exclusivamente los centros hospitalarios Joe DiMaggio Childrens Hospital y el South Miami Hospital.
“¡Una experiencia maravillosa, ingresar a un hospital con una guitarra eléctrica y un amplificador! Gran curiosidad para los niños a los que pude demostrarle más de este instrumento. Además, acompañado de mi armónica pude entregarles piezas mías, canciones peruanas, cubanas, italianas, algo de Beethoven, Vivaldi, Mozart, The Beatles, Elton John, Dylan y alguna improvisación de blues. Pude conocer más de cada paciente por lo que cada repertorio fue único. Esta experiencia ha dejado huellas en mí al sensibilizarme no sólo por la salud de estos pacientes sino por lo olvidados y deseosos que están de romper su monotonía. Doy gracias a Dios que me dio la oportunidad de entregarles un poco de alegría y lo mejor que sé hacer, música,” aseguró Pedro quien comenzó su día en el Joe DiMaggio donde junto al personal de Musicians On Call recorrió las unidades de oncología, cuidados intensivos y pediatría arrancando sonrisas a los niños allí recluidos en los que se encontraba una niña sobreviviente del pasado terremoto en Haití con quien tuvo la oportunidad de comunicarse gracias a su dominio lingüístico en inglés, español y francés.
“Gracias por detenerte y tomarte el tiempo para entretener a mi hijo. Gracias por interpretar una canción de The Beattles para él y arrancarle una sonrisa en su rostro. Agradezco el que te tomarás el tiempo para demostrarme las funciones de tu guitarra por lo que ya quiero regresar a casa para detenerme y hacer algo de música,” expresó Joseph Piccolo padre de uno de los pacientes de esa institución.
Luego, en tempranas horas de la tarde Pedro Suárez-Vértiz arribó al South Miami para hacer lo propio con pacientes adultos de la unidad de oncología. A su petición, la primera parada fue en la habitación de un paciente que lleva hospitalizado más de 30 años y quien a pesar de no tener movilidad a través de sus ojos agradeció la música que le entregó este multifacético artista. En adición, a sus éxitos y clásicos de la música anglosajona, Pedro interpretó algunos temas de la música hispana para complacer a una cantante de ópera cubana con quien cantó varias canciones.
Pedro Suárez-Vértiz cerró su día con una única presentación televisiva en el show de Alexis Valdés, Esta Noche Tu Night, donde, además de enfrentarse al estilo único de su anfitrión y a la sensual enfermera, interpretó a petición de Valdés su mega-éxito “Amazonas”, tema que da nombre a su más reciente producción discográfica y que también titula su nuevo álbum “AMAZONAS UNCUT”, una edición de lujo que sale al mercado internacional este 15 de juni
