For the first time in his career, the Puerto Rican singer, songwriter and actor Pedro Capó releases a cover album. En Letra De Otro is available today in all digital platforms and in physical format. This album is an expression of admiration for the craftsmanship of every song he chose to re-invent.

“Será Que No Me Amas” – recorded in 1978 as “Blame It On the Boogie” by the British artist Mick Jackson, and made famous around the world by The Jacksons, led by Michael Jackson, this song became a Latin pop hit thanks to Luis Miguel’s 1990 version in Spanish. Fusing reggaetón and acoustic pop, Pedro Capó brings it back for a new generation.
“Te Quiero Tanto, Tanto” feat. Kaay – The teen-pop group Onda Vaselina released this song in 1997 and it went on to become the iconic theme to the telenovela Mi Pequeña Traviesa. Pedro Capó offers us a rhythmic version with a surprising coda.
“No Me Puedes Dejar Así” – Recorded in 1983 by the Mexican crooner Luis Miguel, this nostalgia-filled song about a breakup is still emotional and moving.
“Estoy Enamorado” – Reggae beats sweeten this version of the Donato y Estéfano hit that was released in 1999.
“Atrévete-Te-Te” – The global smash by his fellow Puerto Ricans of Calle 13, recorded in 2005, becomes a festive, acoustic-framed reggaetón.
“Amores Como El Nuestro” – This salsa classic recorded by Jerry Rivera in 1992 becomes even more seductive with Pedro Capó’s combination of bolero and pop-swing.
“Provócame” – Sensual and danceable, this song was recorded by the legendary Puerto Rican artist Chayanne® in 1992, and Pedro Capó plays up its flirtatious vibe on this funky remake.
“Azúcar Amargo” – The first single of En Letra De Otro brings out all the sentiment of this song about a relationship that conjures contradictory and passionate feelings. It was originally recorded by the Mexican vocalist Fey in 1996.
“Otro Día Más Sin Verte” – Pedro Capó discovers a bluesy side to this passionate ballad that the Cuban singer and songwriter Jon Secada took to the English-language market in 1992.
“Amor Prohibido” – Inviting us to the beach, Pedro Capó puts a surf-rock spin on this Selena treasure from 1994.
At 9 p.m. ET this evening, HBO Latino will premiere a concert video by Pedro Capó which features all of the album’s songs. Titled “Pedro Capo: En Letra De Otro”, this program will also give Pedro time to talk about why he chose each of the album’s songs.
It can be said that Pedro Capó comes from island royalty – his grandparents are the legendary singer-songwriter Bobby Capó and the former Miss Puerto Rico Irma Nydia Vázquez. Pedro Capó, however, launched his musical career in a very independent way, motivated only by his need to write songs and to express himself.
His acting career has recently taken him to new heights, as he has landed a starring role in the hit Telemundo series Guerra De Ídolos.
Last night was the official release party of Pedro’s album En Letra de Otro at the Vivo Beach Club, where he interpreted various songs included on his album such as “Provócame”, “Amor Prohibido” and his most recent single “Azúcar Amargo”. Afterward, some fans were able to spend time with the artist, sign autographs and take pictures with him.
Pedro’s promotional agenda continues with an in-store in Mayagüez Mall today at 5:00 p.m. and tomorrow in The Mall of San Juan at 2:00 p.m. Next week he will be promoting his album in Miami and then in Mexico, where his single remains standing on the radio Top 40.
The end of the year will be a very exciting time for Pedro since he is starring in the movie Sol de Media Noche which will be in theaters on October 26th. He will also be performing his second concert at the most important venue in Puerto Rico, the Coliseo José Miguel Agrelot, on October 28th.

Se podría decir que Pedro Capó proviene de realeza puertorriqueña, siendo su abuelo el legendario cantautor Bobby Capó y su abuela la ex-Miss Puerto Rico Irma Nydia Vázquez. Sin embargo, Pedro comenzó su carrera musical de manera independiente, motivado solamente por la necesidad de componer y de expresar a si mismo.
En su faceta de actor, se está dando a conocer ante millones de televidentes como protagonista de la serie Guerra De Ídolos por Telemundo.
Por otro lado, anoche se celebró el lanzamiento oficial de En Letra De Otro en el Vivo Beach Club en un evento privado donde interpretó varios de los temas incluidos en esta nueva producción como “Provócame”, “Amor Prohibido” y su más reciente éxito “Azúcar Amargo”. Posteriormente varios de sus fans, escogidos en varios concursos que corrieron diferentes marcas, pudieron compartir la celebración de este nuevo lanzamiento junto al artista.
La agenda de promoción de Pedro continúa con las firmas de autógrafos hoy en Mayagüez Mall a las 5:00 de la tarde y mañana en el Mall of San Juan a las 2:00 de la tarde. De ahí viajará a la ciudad de Miami y la semana entrante a la Ciudad de México, donde ya se encuentra en el Top 40 de la radio, por espacio de un mes.
Igualmente, el mes de octubre será uno cargado para el artista porque el 26 será el estreno de la película Sol de Media Noche donde Pedro hace el papel protagónico de unos gemelos idénticos y el 28 es su cita más importante con su fanaticada pues será su segundo concierto en el recinto más importante del país, el Coliseo José Miguel Agrelot.
