Miami, FL – November 15, 2010 – Gone are the days of being discovered by a senior executive of a powerful record label. In today’s music industry, musicians are forced to forge their own careers in order to achieve success.
Apart from writing their own songs and making sure those songs can compete in this very difficult market, independent artists, such as ORIGEN, book their own tours, are in charge of advertising, websites, merchandise, among other things, to give you an idea of how much work is done behind the scenes. Therefore, ORIGEN is partnering with their fans and Kickstarter.com, a site that gives independent artists a platform with which they can try to raise the money needed to complete their projects. In ORIGEN’s case, they are attempting to raise $4,000 in 45 days, which is just a small portion of the total cost needed to launch this new album.
"Many people enjoyed our first CD, and we owe our fans and friends the opportunity to become more involved with this second album," says Ecuadorian Mirs, lead singer of ORIGEN. She continues, "thats why we are seeking the support of our fans, we are all working toward a common goal"
The band created a fun video especially for fans explaining the process, the campaign runs from Monday, November 15 until Thursday, December 30. The funds raised will be used for recording, mixing, mastering, photography, design and manufacturing of the CD.
Contributions range from $1 to $500 and no one will be left empty handed. Those who donate will receive everything from MP3 downloads, to autographed copies of the CD, T-shirts, a “making of” DVD, posters, acoustic versions, unreleased tracks, remixes, stickers, buttons.
In addition, some contributors will receive a special invitation to sound check and the VIP section at the CD release party for the new album. Some others, will receive a very special home-cooked meal at their home, prepared by the band.

“Mucha gente disfrutó nuestro primer álbum, y pensamos que le debemos a nuestros fans y amigos la oportunidad de estar más involucrados en el segundo disco”, comento la ecuatoriana Mirs, vocalista líder de Origen. Continuó diciendo, “por eso es que buscamos el respaldo de nuestros seguidores, estamos todos trabajando por un objetivo común”
La banda creó un divertido video dirigido a sus fans donde se explica el proceso, la campaña se extiende desde el lunes 15 de noviembre hasta el jueves 30 de diciembre. El dinero recaudado se utilizará para la grabación, mezcla, masterización, las fotografías, el diseño y la fabricación del CD.
Las contribuciones pueden ser desde $1 hasta $500 y nadie se irá con las manos vacías. Las personas que donan recibirán desde descargas en MP3s, a copias autografiadas del CD, camisetas, un DVD de cómo se realizó el álbum, pósters, versiones acústicas, temas inéditos, remixes, calcomanías, botones.
Además, algunos de los contribuyentes recibirán una invitación especial a la prueba de sonido y a la sección VIP durante la fiesta del lanzamiento del nuevo álbum. Incluso algunos recibirán una cena muy especial en su casa, cocinada por la banda
