Last night, The Latin Song Writers Hall of Fame (LSHOF), celebrated some of the most successful and beloved songwriters and performers of Latin music during the memorable 2017 LA MUSA AWARDS ceremony at the James L. Knight Center. At the fifth annual gala hosted by actor Jaime Camil, Erika Ender, Ana Gabriel, Roberto Livi, Martin Urieta, Carlos Vives, and Camilo Sesto were inducted into the prestigious LATIN SONG WRITERS HALL OF FAME.

The LATIN SONGWRITERS HALL OF FAME LA MUSA AWARDS 2017 ceremony made music history with unforgettable moments and music tributes: Draco Rosa and Diego Torres captured the audience with their electric rock dedication to Gustavo Cerati. After his induction, Roberto Livi brought the house down when he paused his set and asked Ana Gabriel up to the stage to sing with Vicky Carr, in their first live encounter in many years.

No less moving was Martin Urieta’s words and sentiment for immigrants. Ednita Nazario offered a riveting and heart gripping musical tribute to Puerto Rico, and Carlos Vives gave the audience an additional exclusive musical gift with an acapella tune that made the audience ask for more.

The late and great Julio Jaramillo received the “Legacy Award” and Gustavo Cerati the “Posthumous Award.”

Horacio Placencia was inducted by BMI Vice President of Latin Music within Broadcast Music, Delia Orjuela. Jaime Camil inducted Mexican icon Ana Gabriel who sang, “Simplemente Amigos;” Argentine folksinger Soledad Pastorutti sang “Brindis” and presented Afo Verde with his honor.

Acclaimed singer Camilo Sesto, performed the international hit, “Vivir asi es morir de amor,” Erika Ender received an additional recognition from iHeartRadio’s Enrique Santos for Song of the Year “Despacito;” and the night closed with a grand finale of the Song of All Times, “La Bamba.”
The evening included additional performances and the participation of many entertainment luminaries like: Kany Garcia, Carlos Rivera, Alejandro Jaen, Jon Secada, Fernando Varela, Maisy Kay, among others.

The 2017 Latin Songwriters Hall of Fame LA MUSA AWARD ceremony was a special evening. Amidst one of the worst seasons of natural disasters causing catastrophic loss of life in Mexico, the Southern Coast of the United States, Puerto Rico, and the Caribbean, Latin stars reminded audiences that songwriting and music are important and as relevant as ever.

Anoche, el Salón de la Fama de los Compositores Latinos (LSHOF), por sus siglas en inglés, celebró algunos de los más reconocidos y queridos compositores, autores e intérpretes de la música Latina en la ceremonia 2017 PREMIOS LA MUSA. Los premios se llevaron a cabo en el James L. Knight Center en Miami, donde Jaime Camil presidió la noche como Maestro de Ceremonias. Erika Ender, Ana Gabriel, Roberto Livi, Martin Urieta, Carlos Vives, y Camilo Sesto fueron ingresados en el prestigioso Salón de la Fama de los Compositores Latinos y se les otorgó el PREMIO LA MUSA.

Salón de la Fama de los Compositores Latinos PREMIO LA MUSA 2017 hizo historia al dar momentos inolvidables y tributos musicales entre ellos: Draco Rosa y Diego Torres capturaron al público con su dedicación rock al fenecido Gustavo Cerati. Luego de ser ingresado, Roberto Livi hizo un alto en el espectáculo y su número musical para invitar Ana Gabriel a cantar junto a Vicky Carr, luego de tantos años de no estar juntas en un escenario.

Igual de conmovedor fueron las palabras de Martin Urieta y su sentimiento para los inmigrantes. Ednita Nazario plasmó su corazón y voz para ofrecer un conmovedor tributo musical a Puerto Rico. Luego, Carlos Vives ofreció su ofrenda musical al cantar acapella un nuevo tema que levantó el aplauso del público.

Además, la organización entregó dos premios especiales a las fallecidas estrellas de la música, Julio Jaramillo, “Premio Legado” Award” y Gustavo Cerati, “Premio Póstumo”.

Horacio Placencia fué ingresado por Delia Orjuela, Vice Presidenta de Música Latina de BMI; Diego Torres cantó un medley dedicado a Gustavo Cerati. Jaime Camil tomó parte especial del ingreso de su compatriota Mexicana, Ana Gabriel, quien cantó su grandioso éxito, “Simplemente Amigos;” La folklorista argentina Soledad Pastorutti interpretó “Brindis” y tuvo la labor de entregarle el premio a Afo Verde.

Jaime Camil ingresó al legendario Camilo Sesto quien interpretó su hit internacional, “Vivir asi es morir de amor.” Erika Ender recibió un reconocimiento adicional de parte de la personalidad de iHeartRadio Enrique Santos por iHeartRadio Canción del Año “Despacito;” la noche cerró con la Canción de Todos Los Tiempos, “La Bamba.”
La noche incluyó actuaciones musicales y la participación de muchas figuras del entretenimiento como: Kany Garcia, Alejandro Jaen, Carlos Rivera, Jon Secada, Fernando Varela, entre otros.

La ceremonia de los PREMIOS LA MUSA 2017 fue una velada especial. En medio de una de las peores temporadas de desastres naturales que causaron pérdidas catastróficas en México, la costa sur de Estados Unidos, Puerto Rico y el Caribe, las estrellas Latinas le recordaron al público que la composición y la música son importantes y que siempre han formado una parte relevante en nuestras comunidades.
