“Cumbia Morada” es el primer sencillo de su próximo álbum y fue compuesta por la banda, integrada por Marisol Hernandez (voz y requinto), Miguel “El Oso” Ramírez (percusión), Álex Bendaña (bajo) y José Pepe Carlos (acordeón y guitarra), junto a su productor, el ganador de múltiples premios GRAMMY® y Latin GRAMMY®, Sebastian Krys y la compositora Claudia Brant (Luis Fonsi, Paulina Rubio, Ricky Martin, entre otros.)
“Cumbia Morada es, en pocas palabras, una “canción de fiesta” en todo el sentido de la palabra. Nosotros empezamos como una banda de fiesta, y queríamos reflejarlo en esta canción. Queríamos crear una Cumbia simpática y descomplicada, sobre dejarse ir, ser libre, desconectarse de la rutina diaria y sentirse bien. Sea lo que sea, que te haga sentir bien y te haga feliz, ¡ve por ello!” comento la banda.
La Santa Cecilia es una banda de rock mestizo, compuesta por inmigrantes, hijos de inmigrantes y soñadores. La banda, con base en Los Ángeles, toma su nombre de la santa patrona de la música y constituye la voz de una nueva generación bicultural en los Estados Unidos, completamente inmersa en la música moderna y en el arte autóctono de un país que muchos llaman “hogar” desde jóvenes, mezclándolos en un nuevo sonido que hace homenaje a la riqueza tradicional de su herencia mexicana.
