Multi-talented electro-cumbia rising star Raymix keeps on surprising us. He will blend his background in aerospace engineering with his musical career in a new groundbreaking event. His international hit “Oye Mujer” will be broadcast to Earth via satellite from outer space.

“Boreal Space has teamed up with a group of Mexican aerospace engineering students to launch the Wayfinder II, a nanosatellite that will take off in NASA’s Ames Research Park. The first stage of the project will be to perform a successful suborbital flight in order to make sure the satellite has the capacity to withstand the forces of rocket flight without losing its ability to communicate to the ground using an Ultra-High-Frequency FM radio. The official launch of the satellite has been scheduled for the end of March 2018 aboard the Neptune 2.0 rocket, which will take off in California’s Mojave Desert. During the highest point of the rocket’s flight, Wayfinder II will communicate with a mobile station on the ground and download “Oye Mujer.” If the first flight is successful, the Wayfinder II will move on to the next stage in its mission: broadcasting “Oye Mujer” from space onboard its own independent satellite,” explains Raymix.

A new pioneer of Mexico’s electro-cumbia scene, the young talent is currently touring Mexico and the United States in support of “Oye Mujer” and it’s sister smash “Donde Estaras.” He’ll be touching down in Austin, Texas soon to participate in the legendary South by Southwest (SXSW), so stay tuned for more updates.

El alcance del joven cantante, compositor, productor, músico e ingeniero aeroespacial Raymix, no deja de sorprendernos y esta vez, se ha dado a conocer en un hecho insólito, que su exitoso tema: “Oye mujer” será transmitido a la tierra a través de un satélite.

“El nanosatélite, llamado Wayfinder II, se desarrolla en NASA Ames Research Park, por la empresa Boreal Space y un equipo multidisciplinario, donde estudiantes mexicanos trabajan también. La primera etapa del programa consiste en efectuar un vuelo suborbital, es decir, sin salir a la órbita, para validar que el satélite tiene la capacidad de resistir las fuerzas que implica un vuelo en cohete y que es capaz de comunicarse a tierra usando un radio FM de Ultra Alta Frecuencia (433 MHz). El lanzamiento se llevará a cabo en el desierto de Mojave, California, programado para finales de marzo 2018, a bordo del cohete Neptune 2.0, de la empresa Interorbital. La misión consiste en que durante el apogeo del vuelo (la parte más alta, estimada a ~90Km de altura) el satélite se comunicará con una estación móvil en tierra y efectuará la descarga de la canción de Oye Mujer. El Wayfinder II permanecerá todo el tiempo dentro del cohete. Si este primer vuelo es exitoso, se procederá a la siguiente fase del programa, efectuando un vuelo en baja órbita y desplegando el satélite para validar la misma misión en la que Oye Mujer sonará desde el espacio, a bordo de su propio satélite”, así lo explica el multifascético y talentoso Raymix.

La nueva sensación de la electro-cumbia en México se encuentra promoviendo los temas “Dónde estarás” y “Oye mujer”, tanto en México como Estados Unidos respectivamente y próximamente viajará a Austin, Texas para participar en el legendario South By Southwest (SXSW).
