Following the success of his previously released singles, GRAMMY-nominated singer-songwriter, Gustavo Galindo, debuts today his newest track and music video “Isla de Sal” featuring Costa Rican Latin GRAMMY-nominated singer-songwriter Debi Nova. The song is part of Galindo’s album, ‘RENACER’, which explores diverse genres and sounds.
The evocative music video for “Isla de Sal” was directed by Antonio Roma and produced by Monica Tannus, and features the stunning work of Director of Photography, Ernesto Zarur. Exquisitely shot to have an ethereal quality, this audiovisual work tells a story unlike any other and uses the song’s powerful lyrics to offer a message of hope in the face of adversity.
The video centers on two artists haunted by loneliness and a profound loss, and who inhabit the same space in different time periods. Gustavo Galindo and Debi Nova play the main roles, and communicate through letters they place inside a peculiar piece of furniture in the house. This exchange defies time and space, and the letters represent the heartfelt lyrics that express their beautiful connection that helps them heal their souls.
“Recording and singing “Isla de Sal” with Debi Nova was a magical combination of voices and emotions in which we really managed to capture a little piece of heaven and express it in a visual and musical form… And under Toño Roma’s direction, the video for “Isla de Sal” succeeds at complementing the visual elements that appear in the song, where the world is more magical than real,” says Galindo after working with these talented artists.
“Gustavo and I have known each other for many years and we’ve always had a nice friendship in this industry. For me it has been a beautiful experience to record this song and video because in addition to everything being very professional and easy, it also felt good spending a nice time with friends. The song is about leaving your fears behind and giving in to love. It comes at a time in my life in which it makes a lot of sense,” mentions Nova.
Galindo’s latest musical production, ‘RENACER’,is an album with rock, pop, folk and country sounds, inspired by the artist’s life between two countries (the United States and Mexico) and two cultures; giving the music a unique signature to which he refers as: “Chilan-gringo”.
Yesterday, Gustavo and Debi had a very special presentation at The Mint, one of the most iconic bars in Los Angeles that has hosted some of the most prestigious jazz, blues, folk & R & B artists, including Stevie Wonder, Natalie Cole, Ray Charles, Macy Gray, among others. During the night they presented the best of their musical repertoire and celebrated the premiere of this special video with a powerful interpretation of “Isla de Sal”.
Tras el éxito alcanzado con sus últimos sencillos, el cantante y compositor nominado al GRAMMY, Gustavo Galindo, presenta hoy su nueva canción y video musical: “Isla de Sal”, acompañado de la cantautora costarricense nominada al Latin GRAMMY, Debi Nova. La canción es parte del álbum de Galindo, “RENACER”, en el que explora diversos géneros y sonidos.
El mágico video musical de “Isla de Sal” fue dirigido por Antonio Roma, producido por Mónica Tannus y cuenta con el impresionante trabajo del Director de Fotografía, Ernesto Zarur. Brillantemente filmado para obtener una trama etérea, esta obra audiovisual cuenta una historia como ninguna otra, y utiliza las poderosas letras de la canción para entregar un mensaje de esperanza en tiempos de adversidad.
El video se centra en dos artistas perseguidos por la soledad, que habitan el mismo espacio, en diferentes períodos de tiempo. Gustavo Galindo y Debi Nova, son los actores principales del video, en el cual se comunican por medio de cartas que colocan dentro de un peculiar mueble de la casa. Su intercambio de cartas desafía el tiempo y el espacio, y a través de frases sinceras que son parte de la canción, van sanando sus almas mediante esta conexión.
“Grabar y cantar Isla de Sal con Debi Nova, fue esa combinación mágica de voces y emociones donde realmente logramos capturar un pedacito del cielo y aterrizarlo en forma visual y musical… Bajo la dirección de Toño Roma, el video de Isla de Sal logra completar los elementos visuales que aparecen en la canción, donde el mundo es más mágico que real”, dice Galindo luego de haber trabajado con los talentosos artistas.
“Gustavo y yo nos conocemos desde hace muchos años y siempre hemos tenido una relación de amistad en este medio muy bonita. Para mí ha sido una hermosa experiencia grabar la canción y el video, porque además de que todo fue muy profesional y fácil, también se sintió bien pasar un buen rato entre amigos. La canción para mi es sobre dejar el miedo atrás y lanzarse al amor. Viene en un momento de mi vida en el cual toma mucho sentido”, menciona Nova.
La última producción musical de Galindo, ‘RENACER’, es un álbum con sonidos de rock, pop, folk y country inspirado en la vida del artista entre dos países (Estados Unidos y México) y dos culturas; dando a la música un estilo único al que el artista se refiere como: “Chilan-gringo”.
El día de ayer, Gustavo y Debi tuvieron una presentación muy especial en The Mint, uno de los bares más icónicos en la ciudad de Los Ángeles, donde presentaron lo mejor de su repertorio musical y celebraron el estreno de este video tan especial con una magistral interpretación de “Isla de Sal”. Cabe mencionar, que en el histórico recinto se han presentado algunos de los artistas de jazz, blues, folk & R&B más prestigiosos, entre los que se encuentran: Stevie Wonder, Natalie Cole, Ray Charles, Macy Gray, entre otros.
