Friday, June 28 – Global superstar, INNA, who has over 20 million followers across all social media platforms and over 3 billion views on YouTube, drops today the single and visual for “Si, Mama.” The fashion icon who has been featured on several US mainstream outlets such as Entertainment Tonight, New York Times, RollingStone, L’Officiel, Refinery 29, Billboard and more, sings about a mother’s counsel regarding who and what to watch out for on the road to fame.

In the video for her latest single from her Spanish debut album, YO (Me), INNA who appears in a very editorial and natural look, creates a melancholy character reflecting on someone who has wronged her and her mother’s words of wisdom.

“Mother, you had reason to warn me about the price of fame and that in life, one must clearly know what matters, that without your people, having it all will not be enough,” laments INNA. “Now I know.”

INNA has created characters for each of her songs on the album, which features her singing, rapping, and dancing. In Si, Mama a serious and wiser INNA sings about her mother’s warnings of people who may “take but not give, who care only about money and who can cut you without ever wielding a knife.” The valuable lesson here is to “not let them stop you.”

The video’s mood reflects the seriousness of the song and the captivating tune features gypsy-inspired instrumentals and chants. Ultimately, it ends with INNA’s character having learned her mother’s truths the hard way and moving beyond them, eschewing fake friends.

Si, Mama” follows “Te Vas” (You Go or You Leave), which has garnered almost 8 million YouTube views in the three weeks since its simultaneous release with YO’s launch.
