Los Angeles, CA. (August 28 2017). Shattering all expectations within the Urban genre, Colombian star, Farina “La Nena Fina,” has reinvented the concept of a female artist in a male-dominated industry. Her unique cultural heritage from across the globe, as well as the eclectic blend of styles in her visionary sound, has earned her a place among the most important rising talents in Latin music. 2017 marks Farina’s musical “rebirth” thanks to the worldwide release of her newest single, “Mejor Que Yo,” a reggaeton-infused ballad about empowerment, produced by hitmakers A&X (Alcover and Xtassy), the masterminds behind Don Omar’s hit “Danza Kuduro.”
The single was released digitally on June 2nd under Roc Nation Latin and has reached the #1 position on Honduras’ and El Salvador’s urban music charts this week and the Top 10 on Colombia’s General and Urban charts. The music video for “Mejor Que Yo” has amassed 15 millions views to date, making it an unquestionable success in Farina’s career. Earlier this year, she was also one of three artists nominated for the Artist of Tomorrow campaign in conjunction with the 59th GRAMMY Awards and CBS.com. Farina was the only Latin artist to participate in this initiative.
In recent months, Farina has appeared at prestigious music festivals and events across the Americas, including the ASCAP Showcase for Premios Heat in the Dominican Republic; Chile’s Trap Festival, as the only female act on the lineup; Oxígeno Urban Festival in Bogota; the Bomba Concert at Hartford Convention Center in Connecticut; and she also served as the opening act for C-Kan & Pipo-Ti in Guadalajara, Mexico.
Farina is a multitalented performer whose influence goes beyond the musical realm.
