Last night, the film Pelé: Birth of a Legend premiered in Los Angeles, after its immense success at the Tribeca Film Festival this past April.

The night was filled with celebrities, international soccer players and film industry executives, who arrived to the Regal Cinemas L.A. Live to enjoy the film. Boy George, Robbie Keane, Edgar Davids, Paul Kemsley, Seth Michaels, Ivan Orlic, Benjamin Mathes, Patrick Tendai PfupajeThe story follows the early career of Pelé, born Edson Arantes do Nascimento, from his impoverished childhood in Brazilian to his rise to glory at the age of 17. He led Brazil to its first ever World Cup win in 1958. He later went on to win two World Cups in 1962 and 1970, making him the only person in the world with three Jules Rimet trophies to his name.

Michael Zimbalist and Jeff Zimbalist wrote and directed the film, which was executed produced by Pelé, Paul Kemsley for Legends 10; Brian Grazer, Michael Rosenberg and Alexandre Dauman for Imagine Entertainment; Benjamin Mathes and Ivan Orlic for Seine Pictures; and Alex Walton for Bloom.

The film is out now in selected theaters nationwide and Video On-Demand.na, where among the attendees.
