We’ve waited three years to tell you, and just can’t wait another day— the Chilean wonder-quartet, Astro, is back with a new album ‘Chicos de la Luz’ due out on July 24. Today, we announce this special news alongside the premiere of the second single, Druidas, in Consequence of Sound.
According to band member Daniel Varas, the album “is like a roadtrip with your best friends—but in a car that flies.” The voices and synthesizers were recorded in Astro’s studio in Santiago and the drums were recorded in Red Bull Studios in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
‘Chicos de la Luz’ is a follow up to Astro’s stellar self-titled debut album, which the New York Times called “A joy that needs no translation”. The single Panda was featured in the EA Sports video game FIFA 13. The debut earned them comparisons to Crystal Castles and Poolside.
This Friday, July 10, Astro brings the first peek of ‘Chicos de la Luz’ to the LAMC at Celebrate Brooklyn! In New York City.
