Last Saturday, October 8th, Marco Antonio Solís(better known as “El Buki”), celebrated 40 years of musical career in a memorable night in front of more than 20,000 fans that packed the STAPLES Center in Los Angeles. The show had an unprecedented sell out just 5 days after tickets went on sale.

The show featured hits like “Tu Cárcel”, “Dios Bendiga Nuestro Amor”, “La Venia Bendita” and his most recent hit “Eran Mentiras”, which was very well received by the audience. The historic performance also presented, for the first time on a stage, an innovative 360 degree platform that allowed all those in attendance to have a unique view of “El Buki” from any angle in the Arena. The exquisite repertoire, performed by the great singer songwriter from Michoacán, was elevated to perfection by more than 45 gifted musicians playing their melodic instruments and by beautiful dancers that wore traditional Aztec princess outfits adorned with plumes of different colors.

The show reached a level of quality that only “El Poeta del Siglo” (The poet of the century)can bring to his thousands of admirers. The amazing night was full of surprises; the first, was the presence of his daughters Beatriz, Alison and Marla Solís, who joined their father on stage to sing the hits “Mi nueva historia”, “Extrañándote” and “No Puedo Olvidarte”, songs that touched the hearts of all of those in attendance, resulting in one of the most emotional moments of the night.

Throughout his 40th anniversary celebration, ‘El Buki’ kept surprising his fans with cameos from very special guests like Mexican pop sensation duet Jesse & Joy, who joined him on stage to perform the song “Recuerdos, Tristeza y Soledad”. The memorable evening also had a surprise performance by Lucero, who took the stage and held hands with “El Buki”for a special rendition of the hit “La Pareja Ideal”.

Just when the audience thought that the night could not get any better, Marco Antonio Solís surprised them again, this time performing the song “Cómo me haces falta” with renowned singer Ana Bárbara,

The SOLD OUT show at STAPLES Center is part of a major tour that will take the singer songwriter and multiple Latin GRAMMY winner through the United States, Europe, Central and South America.

Marco Antonio Solís is without a doubt the most important Mexican contemporary singer songwriter at the moment, a folklore icon and an international idol. With 18 studio albums, more than 40 million copies sold and more than 300 to his name, ‘El Buki’ is considered one of the most influential artists in Latin music. He’s also the only artist, to have 12 albums reach the No. 1 spot in Billboard’s Top Latin Albums chart.

It was Billboard magazine that honored him this year with a ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’, extending a rich history of accolades that he has received from the renowned publication, including a Billboard Award for ‘Latin Artist of the Decade’ in 2010, thanks to his impressive achievements that include 30 hits that have reached the top 10 of the ‘Hot Latin Songs’ chart. Other honors that the artist has received include the most important awards at the International Song festival in Viña del Mar in Chile and the 2014 “Best male pop Artist” Premio lo Nuestro Award.

El pasado sábado 8 de octubre, Marco Antonio Solís, mejor conocido como “El Buki”, celebró sus 40 años de trayectoria artística durante una memorable noche ante más de 20,000 personas en el STAPLES Center de la ciudad de Los Ángeles. En un hecho sin precedentes, el show agotó boletería en sólo 5 días después de que se anunciara la venta de las entradas.

Éxitos como “Tu Cárcel”, “Dios Bendiga Nuestro Amor” y “La Venia Bendita” hicieron de la presentación un espectáculo histórico. Los asistentes también disfrutaron de la interpretación de su más reciente éxito “Eran Mentiras”, el cual obtuvo una gran aceptación. Por primera vez, el escenario fue una innovadora plataforma de 360 grados con la que los asistentes lograron una vista única de “El Buki” desde cualquier ángulo del teatro; más de 45 músicos impecables hicieron sonar sus instrumentos melódicos para resaltar más los exquisitos temas del gran cantautor de origen michoacano, sin faltar sus bellas bailarinas, vestidas con trajes autóctonos de princesas aztecas y penachos de colores.

El espectáculo SOLD OUT del STAPLES Center forma parte de una extensa gira que adelanta el cantautor y ganador de múltiples Latin GRAMMY, con la que recorrerá Estados Unidos, Europa, Centro y Sudamérica.
