The Latin Recording Academy has named Betsabeé Romero the official artist for the 17th Annual Latin Grammy Awards. Romero’s artwork will be used as the sanctioned image for The Biggest Night in Latin music and will be featured on this year’s poster, program book, tickets, and other important applications. The 17th Annual Latin Grammy Awards will broadcast live from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Nov. 17 on the Univision Network from 8–11 p.m. ET/PT (7 p.m. Central).
“Our official Latin Grammy Awards art has long been a tremendous opportunity for The Latin Recording Academy to further engage and connect with the creative community, and another way for us to recognize how all creativity intersects,” said Gabriel Abaroa Jr., President/CEO of The Latin Recording Academy. “Romero’s contemporary piece celebrates the colorful cultural diversity that all our nominees share and embrace. We are proud to have such a passionate, profound and talented artist of her caliber involved in this year’s celebration.”

Hailing from Mexico City, Romero has been shedding light on the qualms of her society through her vocation for more than 15 years. Her work touches on issues such as migration and miscegenation. Romero has undertaken projects for different interventionist urban communities, including East Los Angeles; Chicago; Buenos Aires, Argentina; Mexico City; and Toulouse, France. As a versatile global artist, Romero alternatively has placed her work in prestigious collections showcased at the British Museum Collection, Daros Latinamerica Collection in Zurich, World Bank in Washington, D.C., Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles, and Monterey Museum of Art in Monterey, Calif., among others.
The Latin Recording Academy is an international, membership-based organization comprised of Spanish- and Portuguese-speaking recording artists, musicians, songwriters, producers, and other creative and technical recording professionals. La Academia Latina de la Grabación nombró a Betsabeé Romero artista oficial de la 17a. Entrega Anual del Latin Grammy. Las ilustraciones de Romero serán utilizadas como imagen oficial de La Noche Más Importante de la Música Latina y se presentarán en el póster conmemorativo, libro del programa, las entradas y en otras aplicaciones importantes de este año. La 17a. Entrega Anual del Latin Grammy será transmitida en vivo desde el T-Mobile Arena de Las Vegas el 17 de noviembre en la Cadena Univision de 8 a 11 p.m. ET/PT (7 p.m. Centro).

Procedente de Ciudad de México, a través de su vocación Romero ha subrayado las incertidumbres de su sociedad a lo largo de sus últimos 15 años. Su trabajo aborda diferentes temáticas como la migración y la mezcla de razas. Romero ha llevado a cabo proyectos para diferentes comunidades intervencionistas urbanas, incluyendo East Los Angeles, Chicago, Buenos Aires (Argentina), Ciudad de México y Toulouse (Francia). Por otra parte, el trabajo de la versátil artista mundial, se ha incluido en prestigiosas colecciones, como las exhibidas por el Museo Británico, la Daros Latinamerica Collection de Zurich, el Banco Mundial de Washington, D.C., el Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Los Angeles y el Museum of Art de Monterey, California, entre otras instituciones.
