Ruven Afanador based in New York City, known for photographing different personalities of pop culture in the world (Bjork, Oprah Winfrey, Julia Roberts, Janet Jackson, Drake, Hillary Clinton, among others) made an experimental video of ‘Tu amor es’, the third single of Aterciopelados and part of the album Claroscura.
‘Tu amor es’ speaks of the ‘fine chemistry’ of hormones and neurotransmitters that are produced by falling in love; through hugs, orgasms, i.e. the chemistry of love. It is a cosmic, magical, spiritual song that narrates the benefits and happiness that Love produces in your life, in your cells and in your spirit. This song, seasoned with electronic sounds, elevates us with its surprising structure and leaves us in a state of spiritual joy. ‘Tu amor es’ was composed by Héctor Buitrago (Conector) inspired by Carolina Castaño, his partner of 17 years.
The video was recorded spontaneously, like a behind-the-scenes photo session made by Ruven Afanador with Aterciopelados in the city of Bogota; achieving a surreal and dreamlike composition full of colors, ornaments, danceable frenzies and body silences- a timeline that elapses between two blinks of an eye.
