Acclaimed Latin GRAMMY-winning producing duo, Andrés Torres and Mauricio Rengifo, have received another great honor that joins a long list of accolades earned by the talented pair of music professionals in 2018. On Friday, November 16 the producers were presented with the Spotify Secret Genius Award in the Latin category during a ceremony held at the Ace Theater in Downtown Los Angeles and hosted by successful recording artist Ne-Yo.
Andres and Mauricio received the special award straight from Sebastian Yatra’s hands who’s greatest hits were produced and written by the talented duo. Becky G and Daniel Caesar were part of the musical performances of the night.
The Secret Genius Awards, now in their second annual edition, honor the industry’s most prominent and accomplished producers, songwriters, and engineers in an effort to highlight behind-the-scenes talent that makes music possible. Winners are chosen by other important industry figures working today. The event featured a tribute to legendary producer and music personality Quincy Jones, as well performances by top artist such as Bebe Rexha.
Earlier this year Andrés Torres and Mauricio Rengifo were honored with the “Producer of the Year” award at the Billboard Latin Music Awards, and received a GRAMMY nomination for ‘Record of the Year’ for their work as producers in smash-hit “Despacito” ft. Justin Bieber. More recently they garnered nominations to the Latin Grammy Awards in top categories such as: ‘Producer of the Year’ and ‘Song of the Year,’ plus two nominations for ‘Best Tropical Song’.
Since 2015 the duo has worked together producing and composing tracks that have collectively reached 12 billion views on YouTube and nearly 5 billion plays on Spotify, turning them into two of the most successful and versatile producers in the music industry.

El talentoso par de profesionales recibieron el premio Secret Genius de parte de Spotify, en la categoría Latina, durante una ceremonia celebrada el viernes 16 de noviembre, en el Ace Theatre en el centro de Los Ángeles, que contó con la participación del reconocido cantante Ne-Yo como presentador.
Este especial premio lo recibieron de manos de Sebastian Yatra, a quien le han producido y escrito la mayor parte de sus grandes éxitos. Becky G y Daniel Caesar fueron parte de las participaciones musicales de la noche.
Los Secret Genius Awards, ahora en su segunda edición anual, honran a los productores, compositores e ingenieros más sobresalientes de la industria en un esfuerzo por destacar el talento detrás de escena que hace posible la música.
