Miami’s Elastic Bond debuted at #1 on the iTunes’ Latino Rock & Alternativo charts and Top 10 on the overall Latino charts this week with their new album ‘Real,’ which will be released in stores next Tuesday June 25th. NPR World Café has selected Elastic Bond as their featured artist for the week of July 1st.
NPR’s Alt Latino has celebrated the album, raving “Elastic Bond is accomplishing what I’d always hoped that would happen when in Miami: they are meshing all of the cultures there together. I really like this whole album because there’s a lot of jazz influence … I have to give these guys props for mixing bossa nova, jazz, a little funk, a little electronica.”
The band has enjoyed strong national radio support, appearing on PRI/BBC’s The World and getting spins from WFUV in NYC and KEXP in Seattle, plus hometown support from WVUM in Miami. The album is also seeing strong support in markets that have not traditionally supported Latin Alternative music. This past week, KDHX in St. Louis made ‘Real’ its Album of the Week, while Adult Album Alternative format station WEXT in Albany, NY immediately added the album and will be live broadcasting Elastic Bond’s concert on July 17th.
Elastic Bond’s local record release party is July 5th at PAX, with a follow-up performance July 13th in New York City as part of the Latin Alternative Music Conference.

With influences from all across the musical map, some classic and some contemporary, Elastic Bond’s groove includes diverse elements reminiscent of Los Amigos Invisibles, A Tribe Called Quest, Julieta Venegas and The Black Keys.
Elastic Bond is part of new generation of multicultural Latinos who incorporate music from the past in order to make music for the future. With sultry female vocals reminiscent of Amy Winehouse or Little Dragon, Elastic Bond brings together a retro-futuristic combination of folkloric rhythms and electronic beats.
The album is based on well-crafted pop songs and catchy melodies, with a unique style of urban tropical funk sung in both English and Spanish. There are nods to both classic soul and traditional Latin music, while always staying true to the modern sounds of their diverse hometown of Miami.Elastic Bond’s Nacional Records Debut Album ‘Real’
