Carla Morrison is back…This time stronger than ever. The Mexican star has a full agenda. In April she will perform at three of the biggest festivals in America. At the same time, and after working in collaboration with some of the top performers in the music industry, she continues to promote her most recent album “Amor Supremo.”

Morrison is ready to make history when she performs at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. This important cultural happening, which each year brings thousands of people together, will take place over two consecutive weekends in Indio, California. Not only will this be a milestone performance in Carla’s career, but she also has the distinction of being one of the only Latin talents taking part in this year’s edition. Festivalgoers will enjoy her music on Friday 15th and 22nd of April. Between these two performances, the 29-year old artist will make a stop in Monterrey, Mexico to be part of the fifth edition of the Pa’l Norte Festival, where Carla will perform her catalog as well as new songs during the first day of the event, Saturday, April 16th.

“In Pa’l Norte people know me, so I’m sure they will ask for many of my previous songs. In Coachella I will be debuting, so I’m trying to put together something special to surprise the public,” said the artist during a recent interview with Notimex.

Later, the Tecate, Baja California, native will return to Mexico to join the Vive Latino Ibero-American Musical Culture Festival. The 17th edition of this important cultural festival, whose goal is to unify different alternative musical genres, will take part at the Foro Sol in Mexico City on April 23rd and 24th. Carla will perform the second day of the event.

Recently, the singer of “Eres Tú,” announced her collaboration with renowned American stars Macklemore & Ryan Lewis. Morrison is part of the duo’s latest album entitled This Unruly Mess I’ve Made. Lewis confessed to Billboard that Carla’s interpretation on the song “The Train” was simply “brilliant.” On the English language track, Morrison’s parts are in Spanish. Regarding this unique arrangement Lewis said: “She sounded phenomenal… We thought Spanish sounded more beautiful than the English versions. Also, we didn’t make a super complicated chorus, most people can pick up nuggets of the lyrics even if they aren’t bilingual.”

These multiple developments come on the heels off her latest LP Amor Supremo, released at the end of 2015 via Cosmica Records. The album was positioned between Billboard’s 10 Best Latin Albums of 2015 and NPR’s (National Public Radio) 50 Favorites of 2015. Also, the lead off single, “Un Beso,”was among Remezcla’s 50 Best Latin Songs of 2015 and NPR’s 10 Songs Public Radio Can’t Stop Playing.

For Carla, Amor Supremo represents a new moment in her music; she has mentioned during various interviews, that this production reinvented her career. She has also pointed out to El País newspaper, that “this record is different from the previous ones, because it is a little more inclined towards synthesizers, it is something more digital. It is a record that, although still speaks of heartbreak, also talks about empathy and accept that sometimes things can not happen and you must let go.”

Carla Morrison regresó… Y regresó con fuerza. La estrella mexicana tiene su agenda llena, pues el próximo mes de abril, será parte de tres de los más grandes festivales de América, esto sin detener la promoción de su nuevo álbum “Amor Supremo” y sus colaboraciones con grandes personalidades de la industria de la música.

Morrison se prepara para hacer historia, pues pisará fuerte en el escenario del importante Festival de Música y Artes de Coachella Valley. Este reconocido evento, que cada año reúne a miles de personas, tomará lugar durante dos fines de semanas en Indio, California. Carla no solo marcará su carrera con esta presentación, sino que llegará a la tarima siendo uno de los pocos talentos latinos que formará parte del festival este año. El público podrá disfrutar de su música los días viernes 15 y viernes 22, de abril.

En medio de esto, la artista de 29 años hará un alto para llegar a Monterrey, México y presentarse en la quinta edición del festival Pa’l Norte. Carla interpretará sus mejores temas durante el primer día del acontecimiento, el sábado, 16 de abril.

“En Pal´Norte la gente me conoce y seguro pedirán muchos temas anteriores y sus favoritas, mientras que en Coachella será mi debut, por lo que estoy tratando de ver cómo reparto lo especial para que la gente se sorprenda”, expresó la artista en una reciente entrevista con Notimex.

Más tarde, la originaria de Tecate, Baja California, regresará a México para formar parte del aclamado Festival Iberoamericano de Cultura Musical Vive Latino. La edición número 17 de esta fiesta cultural que reúne diferentes géneros musicales alternativos será el 23 y 24 de abril en el Foro Sol, de la Ciudad de México. Carla se presentará el segundo día de la actividad.

Recientemente, la intérprete de “Eres tú”, anunció su colaboración con los reconocidos músicos estadounidenses Macklemore y Ryan Lewis. La artista forma parte de la más reciente producción discográfica del binomio, titulada This Unruly Mess I’ve Made. Lewis confesó a Billboard que la interpretación de Carla durante el tema “The Train” fue simplemente “brillante”. En este tema, que es en inglés, las partes de la cantante son español porque, según mencionó Lewis, “ella suena fenomenal. Además, su versión en español era mucho más hermosa que la versión en inglés”.

Todo estos éxitos llegan luego de su más reciente producción Amor Supremo, la cual fue lanzada a finales del 2015 bajo el sello de Cósmica Records. Este álbum se posicionó en la lista de los 10 Mejores Álbumes Latinos de 2015 de Billboard, y en los 50 Álbumes Favoritos 2015 de NPR (National Public Radio). Asimismo, su primer sencillo, “Un Beso”, estuvo entre las 50 Mejores Canciones Latinas del portal Remezcla y entre Los Temas Más Sonados de NPR.

Para Carla, Amor Supremo representa un nuevo momento en su música pues, en diferentes entrevistas, Morrison ha dicho que con esta nueva producción reinventó su carrera. También ha puntualizado, al rotativo El País, que este disco es distinto a los anteriores, ya que “es un poco más inclinado hacia los sintetizadores, como algo más digital. Es un disco que, aunque todavía habla del desamor, también habla sobre la empatía y el aceptar que a veces las cosas no pueden suceder, como dejar ir”.
