Celebrating the 50th anniversary of his first Spanish-lanuage recording, Roberto Carlos has come full circle with his new album, the latest in the Sony Music’s Primera Fila (Front Row) series. Recorded on May 11-12, 2015, at London’s legendary Abbey Road Studios, this album captures an intimate performance for 150 attendees. Produced by Afo Verde with musical direction by Tim Mitchell (Shakira, Ricky Martin), it’s a keepsake for Roberto Carlos’ legions of fans that reimagines his best-known hits with engaging new arrangements and ideas.

The first single is titled “Te Amo, Te Amo, Te Amo,” and it will be released for digital download on September 18.

In addition to “Te Amo, Te Amo, Te Amo,” the Brazil-native Roberto Carlos performs songs that he had never recorded in Spanish. Every track features a new arrangement. And he surprises us with his re-recording of The Beatles’ “And I Love Her.”

2015 is the international year of Roberto Carlos. In April, he received the Billboard Lifetime Achievement Awardat the Billboard Latin Music Awards. This singer, songwriter and four-time Latin Grammy winner has also been named 2015 Person of the Year by the Latin Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences. He will be presented this award and receive a star-studded tribute on November 18 in Las Vegas, prior to the 16th edition of the Latin Grammy.

Over his 55-year career, Roberto Carlos has become the most popular Brazilian artist of all time in Latin America, selling over 120 million albums. Roberto Carlos – Primera Fila will be launched late this year in CD and DVD formats. Other artists who have released critically acclaimed albums and videos in the Primera Fila concept include Alejandra Guzmán, Franco de Vita, Thalía and Vicente Fernández.
