(Los Angeles , September 29, 2010) Nacional Records is proud to announce the October 26th release of Venezuelan crew Cuarto Poder’s U.S. debut album, ‘In Tha House.’ The album features hits like the group’s beach anthem “Arenita Playita” and “El Que Llevo, Llevo” with vocalist Julio Briceño of disco funk stars Los Amigos Invisibles.

Since forming on the gritty streets of Caracas, Venezuela, Cuarto Poder has become one of South Americas leading indie hip hop acts. The group originally met during a freestyle session in a skate park at a time when hip hop was still very much a new genre in Venezuela. They perform a style called “criollo rap” fusing street lyrics with folk verses and traditional rhythms. Cuarto Poder is very involved with developing the local hip hop scene through workshops and a popular local radio show. Cuarto Poder has shared the stage with Latin America’s top acts, from Calle 13 to Tego Calderon, and Gustavo Cerati to Molotov. They made their U.S. debut with a breakthrough performance at Brooklyn’s Prospect Park as part of the Latin Alternative Music Conference (LAMC).
