Sony Music one of the largest and most prestigious global record companies decide to join forces with the independent label Sonic Projects Records, founded and developed by multiple Grammy and Latin Grammy award-winning producer Juan Cristobal Losada, also founder of the famed Studio Sonic Projects in Miami.

Sonic Projects Inc. will retain their creative independence and indie philosophy while having the support and infrastructure that only a multinational like Sony Music Entertainment can offer.

Juan Cristobal, also known as Mr.Sonic, is a producer, engineer, entrepreneur and lecturer on Music Business at some of the best universities in the country. He has been recognized on many occasions, including one Grammy award, three Latin Grammy awards, and more than 20 nominations of Naras and Laras, demonstrating his skills and versatility to work with a broad and multicultural vision.

About Sonic Projects

In 2003 Juan Cristobal Losada founded the studio Sonic Projects in Miami and quickly stood out for his work as engineer and producer for artists such as Shakira, Ricky Martin or Chayanne, among a long list. In 2006 began to develop the Executive part of his company with independent artists, such us Black Violin, which today is the #1 classical-crossover in Europe and the USA, performing more than 150 shows a year.

In 2009 he joint forces with peermusic company, the world´s largest independent publishing company. The following year he founded the indie label Sonic Projects Records. His first project was master percussionist Edwin Bonilla album “Homenaje a los rumberos”, which earned nominations for the Grammy as Best Tropical album and Latin Grammy for Best Engineering and Best Album Salsa.

In 2016 Sonic Projects Inc. signed a worldwide distribution and licencesing agreement with Sony Music, wich will allows him to develope talents in diferent generes and from diferent backgrounds. The first project they are working together is the debut of Placido, son of the Spanish tenor Placido Domingo, whose album “Latidos” will be released on February 24th and is already available for pre order on ITunes positioned on the TOP 20 of best sellers.

Sobre Sonic Projects
