Grammy Award-winning band La Santa Cecilia premiere “Mar y Cielo” on Vevo, the third installment form their anticipated audiovisual album available for pre-order today.

“Mar y Cielo” is a well-known bolero standard and one of the first songs that La Marisoul sang in public although she had no idea what it meant at the time until she grew older. The song was ingrained in her upbringing, but it wasn’t until recently that she began to appreciate the truth and depth in the lyrics. The video was shot in Plaza Santo Domingo in Mexico City.

These are the songs that we learned from our parents; the songs we heard at parties. We learned how to play music with these songs, and I learned how to be a singer through the boleros and rancheros” – La Marisoul.

The album is comprised of traditional Mexican and Latin American music that was recorded entirely live in just 5 days in the streets, bars, and parks of Mexico City. It is an exploration of the band’s heritage and features collaborations with iconic Mexican singer Eugenia Leon, Chilean star Mon Laferte and the legendary Mariachi America, among others.

This is the first official release for the independent label Rebeleon Entertainment. The album was produced by long-time La Santa Cecilia collaborator and 17-time GRAMMY winning producer Sebastian Krys, and the visual portion was produced by Coyote Media House and directed by up-and-coming Venezuelan director Nelson Moreno.

La Santa Cecilia also just announced a Southwest tour with dates in Arizona, New Mexico, Texas and California. La Santa Cecilia will also play the Hollywood Bowl on Sunday, Sept. 17, 2017 with Cafe Tacvba and Mon Laferte. Full tour dates and tickets available at http://lasantacecilia.com/.

With a captivating voice that sings about love, loss, and everyday struggles, the band has become the voice of a new bicultural generation in the United States, fully immersed in modern music, but always close to their Latin American influences and Mexican heritage. La Santa Cecilia won a Grammy in 2014 for Best Latin Rock album for Treinta Dias, and they were nominated this year in the same category for Buenaventura
