Last Friday night, and after many years, Juanes returned to his hometown, Medellin, Colombia, to give a magical and unforgettable night to more than ten thousand people, who gathered in La Macarena Entertainment Center to enjoy the show that Juanes -son of this land-, and Miguel Bosé, had prepared for them.
This presentation was the first of the two that are part of the world tour “Mis planes son amarte,” which took «the paisa» on a journey over dozens of cities of the United States, Europe, and Latin America. These dates include Bogota, this Wednesday, October 3rd, in the new stage of the Colombian capital: the Movistar Arena, where the Spanish artist and Sebastián Yatra will join him on stage.
An excited, anxious, and nervous Juanes stepped on stage and opened the show with one of his most emblematic songs, A Dios le pido, followed by a repertoire which included his greatest hits, from the memorable Camisa Negra, to his most recent release Pa’ dentro, going through his favorite songs from the latest studio album “Mis Planes son Amarte.”
It was two hours of the musical display, talent, but above all, love; both from the fans to JUANES, and from the artist to his audience, to whom he confessed, profoundly moved and excited, details of his personal and artistic life: “Medellin, you don’t know what I’m feeling right now. I’ve been preparing 46 years for this moment, and tonight you’re making me immensely happy.”
Also, JUANES remembered one of the most difficult moments of his life. “It’s the second time I play on this stage. The first time was the day my father died. That day my brothers and my mother, who are here with me today, told me: ՙgo and play, he would be happier knowing that you’re over there playing music rather than here in the funeral.´ Thanks to him, my mother, and my brothers for giving me the support that day and continue doing so to this day.”
Additionally, the Antioquia-born artist remembered that a little more than 30 years ago, in 1987, on that same stage of La Macarena, the life of many musicians changed. “200 young people saw an Argentinian band play here, which inspired us to make rock and play music,” and immediately started playing Cuando Pase el Temblor, by Soda Stereo.
The biggest surprise of the night was when JUANES invited Greeicy Rendón and Mike Bahia to join him on stage to sing his song La tierra. “These artists have such talent; Colombia has such great talent. Many good things are happening out there; many beautiful things are happening in this country.”
The closing phrase of JUANES’ successful night sums it all: “Medellin, I’m a son of this land, and I want you to know something very clearly forever: My Plans Are To Love You.”
La noche del viernes pasado, y después de muchos años, Juanes regresó a su natal Medellín para regalarles una noche mágica e inolvidable a más de diez mil personas que se concentraron en el centro de eventos La Macarena, para disfrutar del espectáculo que para ellos tenían preparado Juanes, hijo de esta tierra y Miguel Bosé.
Esta presentación fue la primera de las dos que hacen parte de la gira mundial Mis planes son amarte, la cual ya llevó al paisa en un recorrido por decenas de ciudades de Estados Unidos, Europa, América Latina y que también incluye a Bogotá, este miércoles 3 de octubre, en el nuevo escenario de la capital colombiana, el Movistar Arena, donde estará acompañado del artista español y de Sebastián Yatra.
Un Juanes emocionado, ansioso y nervioso se paró en el escenario y abrió el show con una de sus más emblemáticas canciones, A Dios le pido, a la que siguió un repertorio que incluyó sus más grandes éxitos que van desde la memorable Camisa negra hasta su más reciente lanzamiento Pa dentro, pasando por sus canciones favoritas del más reciente álbum de estudio Mis planes son amarte.
Fueron dos horas de derroche musical, talento, pero sobre todo, mucho amor, tanto del público a Juanes, como del artista a su público, al que confesó, profundamente emocionado y conmovido, detalles de su vida artística y personal. “Medellín, ustedes no saben lo que siento en este momento, llevo 46 años preparándome para este instante y esta noche ustedes me hacen inmensamente feliz”.
JUANES recordó una de las más duras experiencias de su vida. “Es la segunda vez que toco en este escenario. La primera vez fue exactamente el día que murió mi papá. Ese día mis hermanos y mi mamá, que hoy están aquí acompañándome, me dijeron: ‘vaya y toque, él estaría más feliz sabiendo que está allá tocando música que aquí en la funeraria’. Gracias a él, a mi mamá y a mis hermanos por haberme acompañado desde ese día y seguirlo haciendo hasta hoy”.
El artista antioqueño recordó también que hace algo más de 30 años, en 1987, en ese mismo escenario de La Macarena, cambió la vida de muchos músicos de Medellín. “200 jóvenes de aquella época vimos tocar aquí a una banda argentina que nos inspiró para hacer rock y tocar música” y acto seguido comenzó a interpretar Cuando pase el temblor, de Soda Estéreo.
La gran sorpresa de la noche se dio cuando JUANES invitó al escenario a Greeicy Rendón y Mike Bahia para cantar junto a él su canción La tierra: “Qué talento el de estos artistas y que talento tan grande el que tiene Colombia. Están pasando muchas cosas buenas ahí afuera, muchas cosas bonitas están pasando en el país”.
