2x Grammy-nominated Dim Mak boss Steve Aoki teams up with Dutch electro house producer LOOPERS for a collaborative single “Pika Pika.” Utilizing frenetic vocal samples, bold synth stabs, and elastic bass lines, the duo fuse electro and bass house sound into an out of this world production. The official music video for the track reveals a heist-style narrative, starring former professional footballer turned actor Vinnie Jones (Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Snatch) and Aoki himself. “Pika Pika” is the second release from Aoki’s ‘5OKI’ campaign, consisting of five collaborative singles and music videos, all coming out over five consecutive weeks on Dim Mak. Each track in the 5OKI campaign marks a return to the big room, electro house sound that established Aoki as an international festival force.

5 SINGLES • 5 WEEKS • 5OKI

Featuring artwork by illustrator Rod Martinez, the cover art for “Pika Pika” serves as a film poster for the theatrically-inspired music video. The video follows Aoki and his Yakuza-inspired Dim Mak Crew on an intricate heist. Aoki’s objective is to rob a vault that is secured via a biometric hand scanner. He is given a dead mob boss’ hand, which he must use on the scanner to gain entry. Meanwhile, Vinnie and the LOOPERS gang have a heist plan of their own, and pursue Aoki and the goods. A fight scene unravels into an epic car chase, before concluding with a plot twist that leaves Aoki at the center of a heist gone wrong.

“Pika Pika” marks the first studio collaboration between Steve Aoki and LOOPERS. LOOPERS previously remixed Aoki’s track “Night Call (feat. Lil Yachty & Migos),” released on the Steve Aoki Presents Kolony (Remixes) album.

About LOOPERS:

Young Dutch and Electro House producer LOOPERS may be fairly new to the scene, but he already boasts an impressive track record. With international tour dates, collaborations with Diplo and Will.I.Am, and continuous Beatport releases all under his belt, he has gained success and established himself as a name in the electronic music scene. LOOPERS has garnered major support from DJs and producers such as Tiesto, Hardwell, Axwell, Nicky Romero, and Laidback Luke, with the latter having signed him to his record label, Mixmash Records. His work with fellow Dutch producer Dyro, including the 2016 hit “Set Me Free” that followed 2015’s “Jack It Up” (2.6m and 832,000 on-demand streams, respectively), was released on Dyro’s imprint WOLV. LOOPERS’ tracks have dominated Laidback Luke’s Top 10 chart, and his infectious energy has graced both clubs and stages, including a coveted Tomorrowland set, alike. 2017 saw his remix of Aoki’s “Night Call (feat. Lil Yachty & Migos),” which was released on Dim Mak as part of the Steve Aoki Presents Kolony Remixes album. If the past couple years has proven anything about the young producer, LOOPERS’ future looks bright indeed.
