Residente Premieres His Single and Video “Sexo” With Dillon Francis and Ile

The multiple award-winning Puerto Rican artist Residente premieres today his single and music video Sexo. This is the fourth music video directed by Residente, after his directing success with “Somos Anormales” (We’re Abnormal), “Desencuentro” (Mismatch) and “Guerra” (War). The “Sexo” video was filmed in Bogotá, Colombia, and starts Julián Román, the renowned actor of Colombian cinema, TV and stage.

“Sexo” was written by Residente, with musical arrangements by the American DJ Dillon Francis and vocals on the chorus by the Puerto Rican singer iLe.

This song’s lyrics, in Spanish, discuss society’s obsessions: “They put on makeup because they want sex, they comb their hair because they want sex, they wear perfume because they want sex, they ask for your number because they want sex, they approached you out of the blue because they want sex, no one says it but everyone wants sex.”

With vibrant colors, iconic scenes and a large group of seductively dressed dancers, this video portrays vignettes that Residente notes often have a sexual subtext.

Like some of Residente’s previous videos, “Sexo” has explicit scenes, artistic nudity, and strong imagery. The panorama serves to express Residente’s artistic vision exactly as he intended it.
