Nando Chang is an unconventional artist. Born in Chiclayo, Peru in a family with Chinese and Indigenous heritage, he moved for the first time to the US when he was four years old. Forced to come back, he spent 10 years living with his grandmother in Peru. Chang’s debut album, Cholito Samurai is slated to be released May 18th by Universal Music Group / Machete Records.

Chang’s music reflects his thoughts on society, his love for Peruvian culture, as well as his unconformity with the inequities he has witnessed through his life both in Peru and the United States. Tradition and disruption, intelligence and aggression, calm and revelry; all of these dualities and paradoxes would be useful to describe “Cholito Samurai”, the upcoming debut album by Peruvian-American rapper Nando Chang.

Cholito Samurai was mixed by Grammy award-winning mixing engineer, Frank “El Medico” Rodriguez (Diplo, Major Lazer, CNCO, Diana Fuentes, 3BallMTY, M.I.S.) and co-produced by Latin Grammy nominated producers, Marthin Chan (Afonico Music) and Boris Montalvo (BeatsNDaHood).
