New Album by Jessy J ” My One And Only One” Debuts on the top 5 of the Billboard Contemporary Jazz Chart
Los Angeles, June 8, 2015 – Smooth Jazz superstar, saxophonist and composer Jessy J continues to break barriers with her new album “My One and Only One”, debuting on the Top 5 of Billboard’s Contemporary Jazz Chart upon its release. Her newest collection of masterful compositions and interpretations perfectly blends genres from around the world in a mixture that proudly continues to advance the level of an instrument and a genre that already has predecessors considered amongst the best musicians in all of history.
Inspired by her travels to Cuba and Africa and produced by Grammy winner Paul Brown, “My One and Only One” also counts with participations of top-of-the-line guest musicians such as Grammy winning keyboardist Gregg Karukas. Her first single “Tango Boy” continues to climb up the radio charts and the the perfect fusion of jazz and Cuban Son “Paraíso Mágico” is currently a favorite in Latin radio and television. Other highlights of the album include Jessy J’s sensitive re-imaginings of Adele’s “Lovesong,” Toni Braxton’s “You’re Makin’ Me High,” the R&B classic “Strawberry Letter 23” plus 7 great Jessy J originals.
Jessy J talks about the work ethic taught by her parents as imperative in the development of her career. Just after her Father’s Day tribute and performance in the Los Angeles’ legendary Jazz Club Spaghettinni’s on the 20th of June, she will make her annual trip with her father to his native Sinaloa, México, where he is one of elders in charge of walking the town’s saint statue of San Juan during their annual parade. Also as part of her tour which starts this month, she will headline world- class festivals and concerts such as the Cancun Jazz festival and the Caribbean Sea Jazz in Aruba this August and September.
Saxophonist, vocalist, songwriter Jessy J is one of the brightest stars on the Smooth Jazz scene. Her previous works and her combination of extraordinary musical talents and exciting live performances have garnered her several Smooth Jazz radio #1s, a #1 Billboard Contemporary Jazz chart position, Billboard’s and R&B’s Contemporary Jazz Song Of The Year Award and was even featured in People en Español issue of “Los 50 Mas Bellos” (The 50th most beautiful People). She also performs before millions as the saxophonist on television’s The Voice and has recorded and toured with music giants like Aerosmith and Michael Bolton.
