Roc Nation Latin Artist Karen Rodriguez premieres her visually stunning debut video, “Happy April Fools.” The dual premiere of the video in both Spanish and English versions is a first for the songstress who was involved in the creative process. The single, “Happy April Fools”, is invading the airwaves of BDS’ Hot AC charts.
The visual is inspired by the song’s theme and shot at Coney Island, a special place for Karen who remembers going there since she was a child. On a freezing cold day, the empty carnival rides and lights of Coney Island set the stage for the breath taking video for “April Fools”, where the “trickster” plays with Karen’s heart, making her the fool. Thrilled to see her vision come to life, a beautiful Karen in a gorgeous pink gown walks through the empty Luna Park, with empty rides in the background, beautifully recounting the story of the song. The video was directed by Christian Lamb and produced by Scheme Engine.
About the video, Karen explains: “This was my first professional video ever so it was an amazing experience. Shooting at Coney Island was special for me because I’ve been going there since I was a child, so I’m very happy that I was able to return and make my vision come to life.”
Karen Rodriguez continues working on what will be her debut EP with Roc Nation Latin, while promoting her single “Happy April Fools”.

La artista de Roc Nation Latin Karen Rodríguez estrena hermoso video de su primer sencillo “La Tonta De Abril.” El video lanza simultáneamente en ambas versiones español e inglés, es el primer video profesional para la estrella de la canción quien estuvo involucrada en el proceso creativo y se encuentra feliz con el resultado. “La Tonta De Abril” está invadiendo las emisoras y llegó a la posición #35 en las listas de BDS de las canciones más calientes del género Adulto Contemporáneo (BDS Hot AC chart).
Inspirado en el día de los tontos (April Fools), el video se desarrolla en un carnaval. Grabado en Coney Island, un lugar muy especial para Karen quien recuerda ir desde que era niña. El video fue dirigido por Christian Lamb bajo la casa productora Scheme Engine. En un día frío, las atracciones vacías y las luces de Coney Island fueron el escenario perfecto para el video “La Tonta De Abril”, donde vemos al chico quien jugó con el corazón de Karen convirtiéndola en “La Tonta De Abril.” Vemos a una hermosa Karen vestida en un bello vestido rosa caminando por un Luna Park vacío, contando la triste historia de la canción.
A cerca del video Karen explicó: “Este fue mi primer video profesional y la experiencia fue increíble. Grabar en Coney Island fue muy especial para mí ya que desde niña he visitado el parque, estoy muy feliz de tener la oportunidad de regresar y hacer mi visión una realidad.”
