The new release from the Afro-Colombian Pacific group ChocQuibTown, “El Mismo” is now available today on all digital stores. The group members, Goyo The Girl, Tostao & Slow Mike  draw upon the conection to their native musical culture and daily lives to create a pop fusion sound that sizzles across radios waves. Said innovative sound has garnered a GRAMMY nomination and a Latin GRAMMY win for the group.

With “El Mismo”, the band commemorates their 15 year anniversary as a band with the majority of those years as peermusic songwriters.  It is also their 5th full length album which is evidence of their steady growth as composers and artists.

The recording was produced under the direction of band member Slow Mike and Andrés Castro and co-produced by Goyo and Tostao. The mix was done by Curt Schneider and mastering by Tom Coyne at Groove Studios Miami and Slow Records.

 ·∙ The first single and video “Cuando Te Veo” has been released in various versions, including an Urban version featuring Latin Urban powerhouse, Nicky Jam.

 ·∙ The band has received a multitude of awards and nominations including a 2010 Latin GRAMMY® and 8 GRAMMY® and Latin GRAMMY®  nominations combined.

 ·∙ Their 2011 studio album “Eso Es Lo Que Hay” was certified Gold by the RIAA.

 ·∙ The group consists of 3 family members: Carlos “Tostao” Valencia (rapping), his wife Gloria “Goyo” Martínez (singing and rapping), and Gloria’s brother, Miguel “Slow” Martínez (producGon and rapping).

 ·∙ In the summer 2014, ChocQuibTown performed at the Latin Alternative Music Conference and afterwards, Billboard Magazine named them one of 5 Artists to Watch.

·∙ Goyo was tapped to perform the Spanish version of the classic “Tomorrow” which ran as the end credit for Latin American release of the film Annie.

El nuevo disco de la agrupación Afro-Colombiana del Pacifico ChocQuibTown, estrenó ayer 19 de mayo  “El Mismo”. Goyo The Girl, Tostao y Slow Mike crean una mezcla única de vivencias cotidianas y esa conexión con la tierra que, llevadas a los ritmos de hoy como el pop, hacen erizar las más íntimas fibras sonoras.    Éste sonido los ha llevado en dos oportunidades a ser nominados al GRAMMY americano y a ganar uno latino.
Con “EL MISMO” se conmemoran sus 15 años como banda; la mayoria como compositores de peermusic. También es el quinto CD de estudio con material inédito; llevando el crecimiento musical y la evidencia intrínseca de su carrera como compositores y artistas.
El disco fue realizado bajo la producción de Slow Mike y Andrés Castro, además de la co-producción  de Goyo y Tostao. La mezcla fue hecha por Curt Schneider y la masterización Tom Coyne en los estudios de Groove Studio en Miami y Slow Records.
